Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS PEDAL PUB?
We are not the same as Pedal Pub. Pedal Pub is a large American Party Bike Franchise company that opened in Edmonton in 2024. Urban Pedal Tours is Edmonton’s only Canadian Party Bike, owed, operated and started in Edmonton in 2017. Support and ride local by booking your tour with us!
ARE DRINKS INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE?
Two drinks per person on the bike are included in every tour! Additional drinks on the bike are available for purchase. We offer a selection of Craft Beer, Sezlters, Hard Tea and coolers.
All food/drinks at bar stops are not included in the tour price, and will be up to your group to purchase at each stop day of the tour.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES THE BIKE HOLD?
Whyte Ave/Old Strathcona/Happy Beer Street tours require a minimum of 6 guests (to a maximum of 15).
Downtown tours require a minimum of 6 guests (to a maximum of 13).
All of our bikes have a bench at the bike that seats 2-3 guests that are non-pedaling. Please keep in mind we do require the minimum number of guests noted above to be pedaling. Any additional guests are able to use a non-pedaling seat.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Full refund for cancellations more than 14 days prior, tours rescheduled for cancellations 8-14 days prior, no refunds or tour rescheduling for cancellations within 7 days of the tour. For multiple bike bookings or custom events/rentals our cancellation policy is 30 days in advance for full refund or rescheduling.
Tours run rain or shine; in the event of severe weather tours as determined by Urban Pedal Tours may be delayed or cancelled. If tour is cancelled by Urban Pedal Tours a full refund or rain check will be provided with as much notice as possible.
We reserve the right to cancel any tours with less than the minimum number of riders required to pedal the bike. Refunds or rescheduling will not be applicable to groups who arrive late for the tour.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR PARTY BIKES FROM?
We build our own party bikes right here in Edmonton! Looking to start your own party bike business? Contact us for quotes on new party bikes.
WHO CAN RIDE?
Passengers must be a minimum of 18 years of age for all tours. Pedaling passengers ideally should be at least 5′ tall to comfortably reach the pedals. Shorter passengers are still welcome to ride but are encouraged to take a non-pedal seat or the back bench seat.
HOW SAFE IS THE RIDE?
Your safety is our primary concern. Our bikes are equipped with backrests, handle bars, and hydraulic brakes to keep you comfortable and safe. Beware some party bike operators do not equip their bikes with backrests! Stay safe on the road and only book with companies that have backrests.
We typically travel at an easy 10 km/h pace. You do not HAVE to wear a helmet, but if you would like to wear one, feel free to bring one along! Urban Pedal Tours will not provide any helmets.
IS THERE MUSIC ONBOARD?
Absolutely!! Pick from our playlists, or connect to our onboard Bluetooth stereo system, and lead the pack with your favorite beats!
WHAT IF IT'S RAINING? COLD? SNOWING?
With the weather in Alberta, you never know what you are going to get, but we ride rain or shine!
If there is a severe weather warning, the guide will determine if it’s safe to continue. If there is snow on the ground, we do not ride and the tour will be cancelled.
If the guide cancels your tour for snow or any other reason, you will be given the option to re-book or request a full refund.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM (AND MAXIMUM) GROUP SIZE FOR A TOUR?
YEG Old Strathcona/Happy Beer Street tours require a minimum of 6 guests (to a maximum of 15).
YEG Downtown tours require a minimum of 6 guests (to a maximum of 13).
Public tours (individual seat bookings) require a minimum of 6 seats to be booked to go ahead.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the tour if the minimum number of riders is not met.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Dress for the weather! If you bring a jacket or sweater, you can store it in our cubby on the bike if you get too hot.
We definitely recommend wearing closed toed shoes. DO NOT wear flip flops, open-toed sandals, or high heels.
Pants or shorts are a better bet than a dress or skirt.
